The project "Fractal Reflections" was created for a fashion gala held inside the abandoned Zappeion swimming pool, under the artistic direction of Michalis Pantos. It is an immersive installation designed as a backdrop for photographing the guests during the event.
The structure consists of two 2-meter-high panels that are joined together to form a V shape when viewed from above. The front of the structure is covered with plexiglass mirrors, which are divided into various triangular shapes, creating a fractal pattern. These mirrors reflect the surrounding space and the people in fragmented and diverse angles.
The construction framework is composed of vertical MDF surfaces and slats, providing support for the mirror panels. These elements were precisely cut using our Laser Cutter machine. This construction takes full advantage of the possibilities offered by digital fabrication in order to create a complex parametric installation.
