Based on the sketches of Maro Michalakakos and after some meeting sessions between us, we arrived at the final form and construction details of her artistic installation for her solo exhibition "In Orbit" at the Kalfayan gallery in Athens.

The installation of which we undertook the production, has the general form of a rocket with a height of 3.8m. It is the central exhibit of the “In Orbit” exhibition, and was designed to be easy to store, transport and assemble. Thus, its individual elements do not exceed 2.40m in length.

The rocket consists of three vertical pillars with blade wings-bases, which touch the ground every 120 degrees from each other, three more in the same circular arrangement that follow in the upper part, but do not extend to the ground, and 4 horizontal wide rings that are being connected to the pillars through half-slotted joints. Three ellipse-shaped peripheral discs that resemble planetary rings, connect externally to the rocket.

The setup of the installation was completed by Maro and her team. Ceramic organic sculptural forms were placed mainly on the bottom of the rocket, the peripheral rings were lined with sculptural forms, while most parts of the composition were covered with red fluff.
